Let's touch some grass
...because this newsletter is back.
"The grass is always greener on the other side."
It's a traditional proverb about envy. Humans envy what others have.
"The grass is greener where you water it."
Neil Barringham said this to remind people that care and effort, not envy will make your life better.
"The grass is greener on the other side because it's fertilized with bullshit."
An unidentified edegelord said this to remind us appearances are deceptive.
"Don't let the green grass fool you."
This is a Wilson Pickett song lyric. The song might be talking about the devil's lettuce. It might also be about not trusting appearances.
"The grass may be greener on the other side, but at least you don't have to mow it."
An enlightened person justified their lazy ways with this quote: let it be green. I am only relaxing.
"The grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there trampling it."
A Karen/Ken-in-training found something to complain about, where there was no scope to complain. Kudos!
"The grass is always greener... until you get to the other side and realize it's artificial turf."
A content creator just found the way to pitch their Life Coach service. It is not you; it is the artificial others.
"The green grass is green because people care too much about their lawns and use so much water to keep it that way. How about indigenous ground-cover plants? They'll be greener and they may have tiny flowers the pollinators love."
That's Binati Sheth, throwing her hat in the grassy ring. She likes the local flora and fauna, and side-eyes all the water-guzzling grass growing in Gujarat (a dry state: pun intended).
Now it's your turn. What's your take on the grass?
You have to have takes on the grass because that's how you become better as a writer. You observe the world, you think, you say, people agree or disagree, you refine your words, you try again. YOU TRY AGAIN.
Ya?
